Gifted Stars is a faith-based, boutique academy offering a rigorous curriculum with intentionally small classes (8–10 students) for individualized support. We encourage prospective students to enjoy a complimentary trial day before enrolling in our 10-month academic year. To make our education accessible, we accept state scholarships and offer internal financial aid. We further support families with optional lunch, limited transportation, and afterschool care within our structured, uniform-required environment.0
1. What curriculum model do you follow? Our curriculum is academically rigorous yet developmentally appropriate. Core areas of focus include:
Literacy mastery
Number sense and mathematical reasoning
Writing and composition
Science and inquiry-based learning
Social studies and global awareness
Small-group differentiated instruction
Play-based learning for preschoolers and in-home daycare students
Our goal is to cultivate confident readers, critical thinkers, and disciplined learners.
2. What is your class size? We are a boutique-style academy. Class sizes are intentionally limited to 8–10 students to ensure:
Individualized academic support
Strong teacher-student relationships
Calm, focused classroom environments
Our small class structure is one of our defining strengths.
3. Do you offer school tours? We offer limited tours; however, we strongly prefer a complimentary trial school day first. Instructional time is highly protected within our academy. Trial days allow prospective students to experience the culture, rhythm, and expectations of a full academic day without disrupting the learning environment.
4. What does the $75 application fee cover? The non-refundable $75 application fee covers:
Administrative processing
Academic readiness review
Teacher evaluations and observations
Student record preparation
Securing your child’s placement once accepted
This fee formally initiates your child’s candidacy for enrollment.
5. What does the $150 registration fee cover? The annual $150 registration fee covers:
Student onboarding and academy system setup
Classroom preparation and materials
Technology and Brightwheel platform access
Administrative preparation for the academic year
Registration finalizes enrollment status and reserves your child’s spot in our academy.
6. Do you require a withdrawal notice? Yes. Gifted Stars operates on a full 10-month academic year enrollment commitment with tuition payments. If you must withdraw during the school months, we require full tuition to cover the remaining months of the school year.
During the months of June and July, a 30-day written withdrawal notice is permitted.
7. Do you offer financial assistance? Yes. Limited financial assistance is awarded on a first-come, first-served basis through The Horton Foundation. We encourage early application, as funds are limited.
8. Do you accept the NC Opportunity Scholarship? Yes. We proudly participate in the NC Opportunity Scholarship program. If your child receives an award, we apply the full awarded amount toward tuition. For example, if tuition is $8,125 and your award is $7,000, Gifted Stars will cover the remaining balance for the academic year.
9. Do you accept NCSEAA ESA+ funds? Yes. We accept these funds for schooling, tutoring, transportation, special school programs, and more. Please contact us for more information.
10. Do you offer additional tuition considerations? Yes. Families who provide current proof of Medicaid or FNS benefits receive a 40% tuition reduction. Additionally, one student per academic year is awarded a full-year scholarship.
11. Do you offer afterschool care for students attending other schools? Yes. We provide afterschool services for:
Currently enrolled Gifted Stars students
Students attending other local schools
Please note that placement is limited.
12. Do you provide transportation? Yes, transportation is available for a limited number of students. Transportation fees apply and must be paid in addition to tuition. Availability is not guaranteed.
13. Do you provide lunch? Yes. Lunch is available for $20 per week. Families may also choose to pack a daily lunch to avoid the lunch program fee.
14. Do you observe school breaks? Yes. We believe in balance and renewal. Our academy observes:

15. Are you a faith-based institution? Yes. Gifted Stars is a faith-based private academy. Christian values, character formation, leadership principles, and a Biblical worldview are integrated into our school culture. We also offer a Christian Elective Course for families desiring deeper Biblical instruction. This course is optional and not required for enrollment.
16. Are uniforms required? Yes. All students are required to purchase the official Gifted Stars Uniform & Spirit Kit ($185). This package includes:
Monday–Wednesday academic uniforms
Official academy shirt
Gifted Stars spirit gear
Uniforms must be purchased before the student’s second week of enrollment to maintain consistency and academy standards. This can be broken up into a payment plan if needed.
